Biography:"Ben Younger" made his feature screenwriting and directorial debut with "The Boiler Room" (2000), a drama set in an underground brokerage firm on Wall Street. A native of Brooklyn, NY, Younger attended the City University of New York, where he studied political science. He first set out to have a career in politics, working on a number of campaigns, but he eventually made the leap from politics to filmmaking as a grip on feature films and music videos. After becoming a corporate video cameraman, Younger wrote and directed a short, L & M, which was shown at various film festivals, and also produced the short "Maestro". He got the inspiration for "The Boiler Room" when he himself was recruited as a boiler room trainee, and he spent a year researching underground telemarketing brokerages while writing his screenplay for the film. ~ Rebecca Flint Marx, All Movie Guide
