Signed to a contract with Fox after appearing in the stage play Tovarich, brunette Duff played a supporting role in the comedy "It's a Deal" and then basically did cheesecake layouts until cast as the ingenue in "Just Around the Corner" (1938), a "Shirley Temple" vehicle. She played the receptionist in "Hotel for Women" (1939), notable mainly for launching "Linda Darnell", and was the ingenue again in "Mr. Moto in Danger Island" (1939). "The Devil Commands" (1941), although a mere "B" at the time, has awarded Duff her small slice of immortality, but she loathed horror movies and retired. She was the wife of screenwriter "Philip Dunne". ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
