Biography:After his first two features, French director "Alain Jessua" was touted as an important new filmmaker. Both the films, "Life Upside Down" (1965) and "Comic Strip Hero" (1967) were highly imaginative works. Jessua got a distinguished start working as an assistant for such greats as "Max Ophüls" and "Marcel Carné". He made his own directorial debut with the short film Lion la Lune in 1957. The film earned him the Prix Jean Vigo award. Following the success of his two mid-'60s efforts, Jessua only occasionally made films, including "En Toute Innocence" (1988). ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
