What it's about: King Hyperion of the Titans (Mickey Rourke) declares war on
humanity as part of his revenge against the Olympian gods, and only a peasant
named Theseus (Henry Cavill), handpicked by Zeus (Luke Evans), can lead the fight to
save humankind ... moreand the Olympians.
Our take: Director Tarsem Singh is known for his stunning
visual tableaux and borderline incoherent scripts in films like "The Cell" and "The Fall," so he'll need a strong narrative
structure to sell this movie as the "Clash of the Titans"-like epic that people will be
expecting. But, hey, the images we've seen so far do look absolutely amazing, so
he's got that locked up. The movie will also give us our first look at Cavill in
action-hero mode -- almost two years before we will see him as a revisionist
Superman in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel."
