They Turned out Anything but Mousy
We're sure Disney doesn't cast its child stars on the basis of their future
sex appeal. That would be so, so wrong.
But you can't deny that since the age of Annette Funicello, the company's
done a good job spotting kids who could grow up to
star in their own versions of
"How to Stuff a Wild Bikini." (This Funicello romp from 1965 promised an
"interesting course in the BIRDS, the BEES and the BIKINIS," along with a
how-not-to in unnecessary capitalization.)
As cute as some of our favorite child stars were, not all grew up to be
ravishing beauties or deadly handsome men. Think Shirley Temple and Jerry
Mathers, both of whom had dimples that never quit ... until adulthood. They're
nice looking, sure. But heartthrobs? Hardly.
What's especially remarkable is how many of them have been Mouseketeers, as
most of these school kid-to-sexy candidates show. Is there something about those
ears that turn even mousy tweens into sex kittens once they're grown up? Rowwr.
