SOUTH PARK DRAG QUEENS -- Trey Parker and Matt Stone, 72nd Annual Academy
Awards, 2000 Anyone who witnessed the outrageous "South Park" episode in which Ben Affleck kicked Jenny From the Block to the curb
for another Hispanic cutie who happened to be Eric Cartman's lipsticked
... morefist-puppet still savors its gloriously transgressive flavor. If you are a
devotee of the hilarious bad-taste satire of Parker and Stone, creators of the
cutout kids who live large in South Park, Colo., you couldn't have been too
shocked by the bizarro drag queens who showed up for the 2000 Academy Awards.
Apparently unable to come up with his own distinctive fashion statement, Trey
simply plagiarized the gorgeous emerald-green rag Jennifer Lopez had fallen out of at the Grammys that
year. (See the Women's Oscar Fashion Gallery.) Matt turned copycat as
well, choosing to recycle the virginal-pink Ralph Lauren gown that had adorned
Gwyneth Paltrow the year she won Best Actress for "Shakespeare in Love." Supremely "South Park," sublimely tacky.
