An often brilliant comedian in a mixed bag of movies, the larger-than-life Candy was trying to improve his health when he died in his sleep of a massive heart attack at the age of 43. His final completed film, "Wagons East!," was released ... morethe same year he died, while his second-to-last, "Canadian Bacon," arrived a year later. Michael Moore's sole non-documentary film, "Bacon" is a flat-out terrible satire -- although even when the movie around him was a lesser effort, Candy's warmth and humanity could always still shine through.
