best: Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman. To play the boxer in "Million Dollar Baby," Swank gained 20 pounds and got so buff
it took a while for anything in her wardrobe to fit properly. A second Oscar
went home with the girl with the superwide grin. Still, it got so that the
actress started to bristle at being asked, "Are you ever going to play a pretty
girl?'" Hard to believe the question could arise, seeing La Hilary at the Oscars
in 2005. Wrapped in a luxe blue, fully draped Guy Laroche gown with gathered
front and a very deep V-back, Eastwood's "Macushla" radiated beauty and assured
style. Too bad it was Brian De Palma's ill-fated "Black Dahlia" that offered Swank -- blessed with Joan Crawford bones -- her first chance to dive into the
