Ira Levin, 78, Nov. 12: The author of such creepfest horror novels as "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Stepford Wives" was a lifelong New Yorker and got his start as a TV writer. His first book, 1953's "A Kiss Before Dying," became a huge hit, and Levin enjoyed enormous success ... morein his long career.
