Cecil B. DeMille might have been the Michael Bay of his day.

Now, before you get all up in arms, consider this: Both directors created some of the most spectacular action ever seen on the big screen. And both men are known for making sometimes ... morequestionable casting moves.

For example, Charlton Heston (the Bruce Willis of his day?) plays the Egyptian prince Moses, who discovers his true heritage. And then he brings down the fury of God on his adopted brother, Prince Ramses (Yul Brynner) and the Egyptians, who have imprisoned and persecuted his fellow Hebrews.

The parting of the Red Sea sequence still amazes -- as much as the sight of Edward G. Robinson playing an Egyptian makes us cringe.
