They were hot. They were against the Man. And they were cops. This brilliant concept showcased three of the coolest young actors of 1968, with, shall we say, a low-key acting style, perfect for the antiestablishment... more times. Yet the fact that these hippie kids were cops was a not-so-subtle message that you could be a cop and not only not be a Pig -- you could be cooler than a rock star. The fact that Cole, Williams and, especially, ex-model Lipton were drop-dead gorgeous was the topper. Solid, man. Solid.
