Chuck Berry: Often
credited as the father of rock 'n' roll, Berry is another musician who is
no stranger to run-ins with the law. Berry spent much of his career touring
extensively, performances for which he was frequently paid in cash. The IRS
caught wind of the payments and
... moreaccused the rock 'n' roller of tax evasion,
a charge that he pled guilty to in 1979. Berry spent four months in jail and was
additionally required to serve 1,000 hours of community service. Ironically,
that same year Berry performed for President Jimmy Carter at the White House, at
the president's request. Since then, the 81-year-old rock star has been inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is seen by many of his peers as being
one of the greatest guitar players in history. (Photo: Retna
