'The Milky Way' (1936)

Silent-film comedian Harold Lloyd had his biggest success in talkies with this trifle about a timid milkman who inadvertently becomes a middleweight champion. "The Milky Way" is the first of many movies on this list involving fixed fights. Boxing is full ... more of heroic athletes, but the nagging suspicion of a predetermined outcome has always deterred audiences from the sport. It makes for high drama on-screen, though. Look for "Zorba" and "Lawrence of Arabia" star Anthony Quinn making his acting debut as an extra.
