A native Michigander, news broadcaster Maureen Maher studied her future profession in college, graduating with a degree in communications from Loyola University in 1991. Her first break came as a reporter for radio stations in Chicago and Detroit in the early '90s. She landed a spot as a morning anchor on Flint, Michigan's WJRT in 1995. Two years later, she hired on at CBS Newspath, a job that allowed her to cover a number on important stories including the war in Kosovo. Her work in this venue led to a steady series of reports for CBS Evening News on topics as diverse as the scandals at Enron and the war on terror. In 2003, she was tapped to join the cast of the CBS news magazine 48 Hours. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
